With a little practice, you will be able to blow a very nice smoke ring with these great pipes.
How?
The longer the stem, the cooler the smoke. When blowing a smoke ring, if the temperature of the smoke ring approximates the room air, then the ring will be less likely to dissipate from thermal expansion.
Taking into account the influence of human body temperature at the time of the draw, the average length of time the smoke is held in the mouth prior to release and a hypothetical room
temperature of 70 degrees with a relative humidity of 30 percent, I would estimate that a 40 cubic centimeter smoke ring will experience thermal expansion and 68 percent dissipation within
approximately 7.92 seconds after release and much later with a correspondingly longer stemmed pipe.
